Borșa sits at the foot of the Rodna Mountains, at the top end of Maramureș. From the guesthouse you're soon at the ski slopes, the Horses' Waterfall and the Mocănița steam train, and in a full day, at the wooden churches and Săpânța.

In winter the ski resort has its slopes, a chairlift and a drag lift. In summer the chairlift takes you up towards the plateau, from where you walk down to the Horses' Waterfall. For Pietrosu peak, 2,303 m, the trail starts right in Borșa.
